The New Brighton Community Emergency Response Plan project has been commissioned by Renew and is aligned to the goals of Christchurch City Council Civil Defence team. While New Zealand and the Christchurch City Council have emergency response plans and resources, having a community plan specific to Greater New Brighton gives us autonomy to act independently.

We've Set up an Emergency Activation Procedure:

With our plan, we have the ability to activate a Community Emergency, independently from the council, or civil defence.

We've put together a group of invested Stakeholders:

These groups ensure connections and communication with people who live in specific areas of Greater New Brighton. In an emergency, they help each other by sharing important information and supporting their neighbours.
